Idiopathic Juxtafoveal Macular Telangiectasia (MacTel), type 2 in a 56 year old female patient. The BCVA was 20/50.
OCT shows areas of cavitations in the inner and outer retina; these are thought to be due to loss of cells creating a void, rather than fluid leakage actively causing
cystic changes. Over time, focal areas of ellipsoid zone loss develop. Those tend to expand overtime.
